Help Build the Future of Menopause Care in South Carolina

The South Carolina Menopause Collaborative (SCMC) is a first‑of‑its‑kind statewide nonprofit dedicated to advancing evidence‑based menopause care, expanding access to education, and improving health outcomes for women across the lifespan.

Why This Work Matters

Across the Palmetto State — particularly in rural and underserved communities — women navigating perimenopause and menopause often face delayed diagnosis, inconsistent care, and limited access to trained clinicians. Symptoms that impact sleep, mental health, productivity, cardiovascular health, bone health, and overall quality of life are frequently dismissed or undertreated.

The consequences extend beyond individual health. Midlife women leave the workforce, reduce hours, or change career trajectories due to unmanaged symptoms, creating measurable economic and workforce impacts for families, employers, and communities.

The South Carolina Menopause Collaborative was created to change this.

SCMC brings together patients, clinicians, educators, researchers, and community partners to build a coordinated, evidence‑based ecosystem of menopause care — one that improves outcomes today while creating a scalable, flagship model for other states to follow.

A Note from Our Founder

As a women’s health nurse practitioner practicing in South Carolina, I have cared for thousands of women navigating midlife health changes, many of whom struggled for years to find validation, evidence‑based care, and reliable education.

The South Carolina Menopause Collaborative was created to close those gaps and build something lasting for our state: a collaborative, coordinated model that supports clinicians, empowers patients, and improves outcomes for generations to come. It was created for the women whose stories I have been humbled to be included in each and every day and the women who will inherit this work we have begun.

Thank you for believing in this work and helping us build the future of menopause care.
